As the premier helicopter operator in the creative heart of New Zealand, we take great pride in our role in the screen industry. Whether in front of the camera, behind it or in support, we are proud to offer the most comprehensive and competitive service available.
As well as having access to a range of rigid and stabilised 35mm and HD mounts both in New Zealand and through our partnerships with Robberechts, we own and operate two standard definition Wescam video systems and work closely with Rocket Rentals.
From drama productions to live sports broadcasts, the Wescam 16SS-725 is the machine of choice around the world. Based on the Sony BVP-570, it is digital, 4:3/16:9 switchable and has a 15-726mm canon zoom lens. We can supply the system with a DSR-50 DVCAM or DVW-250 Digibeta recorder, or other formats upon request.
For Infrared search and rescue, land and maritime based surveillance, fire and general thermal inspection and survey work we offer the Wescam 16DS-A dual sensor mount. Stabilised on four axis and comprising a three CCD daylight camera and Agema 1000 cooled thermal imaging camera, it is a rock solid choice for all infrared applications.
With the largest and most diverse locally based fleet of helicopters in New Zealand, dedicated screen division personnel and solid ground support and planning, HELiPRO will ensure that our role in your event or shoot runs with the highest degree of precision and safety.
For Wescam work, the Squirrel or 'A Star' is the workhorse of the industry. As an aerial platform it is stable, flexible, safe, comfortable and can fly for more than three hours between refuels. At each of our four bases we have a Squirrel equipped with a Wescam offset nose mount ready to take either of our Wescam systems, thus minimising helicopter ferry times for our customers.
As well as our five squirrels we offer a nose or tail mount which can be fitted to any one of our three BK117s if you require a larger machine with winching and nightsun capabilities and a Jet Ranger mount available on request. Within our large fleet of more than 30 aircraft we operate 9 different types of helicopters so if your requirements are different, we will have the solution.
Around New Zealand HELiPROs nationwide presence has seen us working closely with the industry including the many support services catering to the Film Industry. In Rotorua and Taupo we work together with Film Volcanic to offer Filming, locations and scouting services in this area.
